Remembrance Day The story of Sacrifice and Courage On the 11th of November at 11 a.m., we pause to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served in our armed forces.
The red poppy stands as a symbol of remembrance, hope, and renewal. As we lay wreaths and bow our heads in prayer, we give thanks for those who served, pray for those who grieve, and ask God to guide us as peacemakers in our own time. In remembering their courage, may we also embrace Christ’s call to love, serve, and live with faith-filled hearts.
As Christians, we reflect on the greatest example of love — Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for us all. “Greater love has no man than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13).
Those who served gave everything so that others could live in freedom. Their courage, their sacrifice, their loyalty, these are the things we honour today. Each poppy is a promise: we will remember, we will pray, and we will strive for peace.
On this day, we bow our heads. We give thanks. We grieve. And we carry their memory with us, so their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Lest we forget.
